Hyundai made it clear back in 2013 when they opened their sports division called N that performance is what they want. Shortly after they launched their first N branded models i30 N and Veloster N. Now, the time has come for 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe N. Although Korean car maker didn’t officially announce this model, the story has a seriousness to it.
The performance – SUV market is on the rise, and Hyundai needs to enter it rather sooner than later. They have announced that he plans to launch N SUVs and crossovers exist. Most people expected them to start with Kona and Tucson. But, we think that best way to go would be with Santa Fe. This car would be an ideal competition for Ford Edge ST. Down the road, it might rival some more serious competitors such as Porsche or Jeep. Everything is possible, Hyundai should give it a try. Take a look how could 2023 Santa Fe N be designed.
Exterior
2023 Hyundai Santa Fe N will try to overshadow the appeal that standard model already has. It will try to do this with more pronounced design, aggressive to say so, of headlights, grille, and bumper. The chrome details will be replaced with matte black ones. This treatment will be seen all around the vehicle. The bumper will now feature larger air vents and will have red details in the lower section. The N badge will also be an irreplaceable part of the new performance-oriented Santa Fe.
On the side, skirts will be extended and pained in red and black. The caps on the mirrors will probably have a darker tone. The tires will be low-profile, and this touch should add that sporty look that it desires from the start.
Interior
The new Santa Fe debuted with many changes, and most of these will find their place on the N version. The main traits are a bigger cabin with more space and three-dimensional dash. The infotainment system will similarly be positioned on the upper section of the central stack.
2023 Hyundai Santa Fe will also come packed with many tech features. Those that we would like to single out are Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance, Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Lane Departure Warning.
The infotainment system will have an 8.5-inch display and will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To pronounce its sporty side, Santa Fe N will have sportier seats and new steering wheel.
Under the Bonnet
With its most recent redesign, the regular Santa Fe received quite a few engine options. The most potent unit is a 2.0-liter Theta II capable of producing 235 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. This much power is enough for a standard buyer, but performance-oriented ones will ask for more. Other sports models from this manufacturers offer more power. I30 N and Veloster N both have 271 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque drained from a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mill.
Even if cars are not your forte, you know that a performance SUV will need to have more strength. 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe N will most likely be powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine which will be able to produce more than 300 hp courtesy of their N division.
Price
Determining the price of this vehicle is a hard task at the moment. Mostly because the recently introduced Santa Fe still hasn’t received official pricing. Obviously, N version will cost more than standard offering. For comparison the ongoing, 2018 Santa Fe starts at $32,000. The most pricier version costs $45,000. Now, with prices like this new model will most likely go above $50,000. If we had to guess we’d tell you that starting price will probably be in mid-$50,000.
2023 Hyundai Santa Fe N Release Date
As for the release date, it will probably mimic the development path of its regular version. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe was introduced earlier this year at Geneva International Motor Show. Same is expected from N performance version. The only difference is that it will arrive one year later and as 2023 MY. Yes, it will also pack more power, be sure to have that on your mind.
