2024 Toyota 4Runner – the Sixth Generation Continues Its Course

Toyota is back at it! That could pretty much sum it up when it comes to a release to the latest in Toyota 4Runner production line vehicle – 2024 Toyota 4Runner. Although to be perfectly honest, the Japanese manufacturer “has been at it” almost non-stop since 1984. When the production of the Toyota 4Runner line had begun in the first place.

The first generation of this SUV or Toyota Hilux Surf as it is known in Japan had started in 1984 and lasted until 1989. In 2016 study by a renowned web page it has been noted that Toyota’s 4Runner is the 3rd longest lasting vehicle brand in the US territory.

By the way, all the 4Runners since the first generation up until this day have been built and assembled at Toyota’s Tahara plant at Tahara, Aichi, Japan and also at Hino Motors Hamura, another plant in Japan.

Design

Toyota 4Runner 2024 is considered to be a part of the sixth generation of Toyota 4Runner manufacturing line. The sixth generation started in 2009 and continued to this day.

Although not many details have been discovered about the latest version of 4Runner, some things are known and given by definition of the brand.

The new version of this vehicle has been imagined and built pretty much like all its predecessor’s: rough-looking, resilient and primarily off-road oriented. The motto for the latest in the 4Runner line seems to be “Bigger, better, stronger.”

Most of the exterior appears to be on the same track as the previous sixth-generation models. However, what might catch your eyes at first might be the new standard roof rack, expressly made to carry more load.

Also, you will notice added red lettering on the front skid plate, where it holds TRD logo. 2024 Toyota 4Runner now has LED fog lights, similar to the ones on Tacoma TRD Pro.

Toyota also made some additional effort to prevent any trail damage by adding roost shields on its frame. Just like any other sixth generation Toyota, this one comes in 3 trims, and as usual, the most emphasis is the TRD Pro version.

2024 4Runner TRD Pro will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, tires made for all terrains with a size of 265/70R.

There will also be some minor changes on the inside of the TRD Pro; primarily comfort – oriented but also adding upgraded Entune system for navigation and adding top of the line, Premium JBL Audio system.

By the way, Toyota continues its tradition with making every new model of the 4Runner. TRD Pro trim that is, come in one unique color apart from the two standard colors for two other trims.

For instance, “Inferno Orange” was the color for the 2015 4Runner TRD Pro. “Cavalry Blue” for 2018 and this time 2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro will also feature in ” Voodoo Blue” color for its consumers.

Engine

Here, at least at first glance, not much has been changed. Ever since the sixth generation was presented in 2009, this offroader goes with the same old engine. Which basically means a 4.0-liter V-6 engine. It still carries a force of 270 horsepower and also 278 pound-feet of torque.

2024 Toyota 4Runner will again, by all relevant reports, maintain five-speed automatic transmission. Some under the hood upgrades are expected, but that is mostly for the heavy-hitter of this line: TRD Pro. And not much info is given on that just yet.

Price

The price hasn’t been officially released and confirmed just yet but is expected that due to some upgrades made in comparison to a previous model. This one goes a little bit more expensive. That means that since 2023 model was priced at $ 42,875 new one will go above that. According to some sources, it will not go over $45,950, which is good to hear.

2024 Toyota 4Runner Release Date

It is expected that the 2024 Toyota 4Runner will make its debut somewhere in the fall of 2023. Exactly when, we are yet to see.
