2023 Toyota Highlander Release Date, Redesign, Engine

Toyota set a Highlander sales record in the US in 2017 by selling 215,775 Highlanders. Will it set it again with the new 2023 Toyota Highlander? We believe they will. So far there are three generations of this vehicle, and it seems that the new 2023 model will be an initiator for the fourth generation. The third generation was unveiled on March 2013 for a 2014 model year. It became similar to other mid-size crossover SUVs with a broader and longer design and improved technology.

Three years later the refreshed 2017 model year appeared at the March 2016 New York Auto Show. It went through a redesign in exterior and interior as well as the engine options and transmission. With this in mind, we can’t expect much from the new 2023 model because it has recently gone through a redesign. Still, we are looking forward to seeing the new model because Toyota never stops to surprise us.

Design

This mid-size three-row crossover SUV produced by Toyota is based on the size of the Toyota Avalon chassis. The 2011 model year has been significantly revised with headlights, a new black with chrome accent rocker panel, and new front grille.

It came with five or seven-seat configurations, but now, the new 2023 model will be able to accommodate up to eight voyagers. The previous model’s exterior looks fantastic, and Toyota holds up to this success.

The front end is altogether arranged with tremendous headlamps and massive air confirmations. On the sides, there are enormous muscle lines that continue down to the back that is set to show up to a certain extent more prominent than it really is. This exterior facelift and the futuristic design will make the 2023 Toyota Highlander look more aggressive.

The interior cabin’s major update includes the latest infotainment and entertaining features, but other parts of the interior are not lagging behind. Four more USB ports are added which are arranged to five—three in front and two in the back. The cabin covers various aluminum-covered data storage compartments that comprise large shelves that transmit the dashboard.

Like all new Toyota models, the new Highlander 2023 also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features which help you along the way, entertain you, and watch out for you. It connects you to the world outside all from the comfort of your driver’s seat. We hope that standard Toyota Safety Sense will come with this model in all trims.

This innovative technology is designed to help protect you and your passengers from harm. It consists of the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert, Lane-Departure with Steering Assist; Automatic High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection.

Engine

From the very begging, Highlander shared its platform with the Toyota Camry and Lexus RX/Toyota Harrier which is the Toyota K platform. So far, under the hood of the Highlander, we could find the 3.5-liter V-6 engine. The V-6 engine comes as standard in all trims except the Highlander LE trim which delivers a 185 HP inline-four.

This unit is weaker, but it is also more efficient because the motor now runs on a more proficient Atkinson cycle. Toyota made this possible thanks to the improved port fuel-infusion framework and an upgraded valve-train. The new Toyota Highlander 2023 is expected to deliver 25 more horsepower and an extra 15 lb-ft. As for the hybrid model, we are sure that it will be available and the V-6 engine might also power it but it will be, of course, more powerful. When everything is added up, the result is 295 horsepower and 263 lb-ft. We cannot say that this is a little power for a hybrid drivetrain.

2023 Toyota Highlander Release Date and Price

We must mention that Toyota usually announces its vehicles at the New York Auto Show or Chicago Auto Show. With this in mind, we can tell that you can expect the new Toyota Highlander to hit the market in 2023. Considering that both Auto Shows are held at the beginning of the year, we will see the new Highlander by April. Moreover, some speculations say Toyota is planning to release the new Toyota Highlander model by May 2023.

There are also a lot of rumors about the pricing, but considering that it is unknown, we must go back to the previous model’s price. They range from the base model’s price of $31,590 to the hybrid model’s price of $48,840. We are sure that when a new model comes out in the marketplace; you will choose the trim in accordance with the price that suits you.
